The University of Tulsa has a Master of Science in Cyber Security, and students have the ability to pick between a thesis and non-thesis course. For those not interested in completing these programs online, they are available in Midwest City, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Stillwater, and Tulsa.
- Undergraduate Degrees:
The Oklahoma City Community College has an Associate in Applied Science in Computer Science with an emphasis in Cyber and Information Security. This program provides foundational cybersecurity skills, proficiency in Linux, Windows, Oracle, and SQL, and soft skills like communication. The program will take two years to complete and students will be prepared for the CompTIA A+ certification. All grades must be C or higher in the computer science category.Rose State College is another community college in Midwest City that offers an Associate in Applied Science for Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. Students can choose a specific path among those two fields, or take the Cyber Science option. Within the Cyber Security option, there are five total courses (15 credits), and three of them will need at least a B or higher grade – Information Security Management, Ethical Hacking and Systems Defense, and Enterprise Threat Assessment. The rest of the curriculum is reserved for general education in communications, US government, math, and finance. Another option is the Cyber Security certificate, which requires 42 total credit hours instead of the 63 total credits needed for the AAS.
- Masters and Continuing Education:
The two options for Master’s degrees in the state that are designated as CAEs are at Oklahoma State University and the University of Tulsa. OSU’s curriculum within Information Assurance can be found as a concentration in many of their Master’s degrees, such as Business Administration, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Management and Information Systems, and Telecommunications Management. The University of Tulsa has a direct Master of Science in Cybersecurity. - Cyber Security Employment Options:
