Master's in Cyber Security Degrees in Maryland

Gaining graduate education in the cybersecurity field strengthens a person's competency in an important field and could help them gain higher levels of employment. Through the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, students can earn a Master of Science in Cybersecurity either online, on-campus at the Baltimore campus, or a hybrid combination of the two. Students completing the program will be fluent in risk assessment and can make recommendations to executive-level employees to optimize security. There is also detailed study at four different levels of cryptology: authentication, encryption, hash, and signature.

All of the prerequisite and foundation courses can be completed online, with most courses under the three program tracks available - analysis, networks, and systems. While uncommon, some courses are only available online, such as Information Assurance Analysis, Protocol Design and Simulation, and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design. For part-time students, they have a maximum of five years to complete the program. Online courses are distributed through the Blackboard learning management system. Each course is divided up into 12 or 14 modules, with each module typically being a week's worth of study.
