Wilmington University Online Bachelors

At Wilmington University, the College of Technology offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Network Security. 40 total courses will be taken throughout the curriculum, which adds up to 120 credit hours. Topics explored include methods to solve cybersecurity issues in the industry, applying ethical principles, and the ability to develop and analyze network security processes. Many of these courses can be taken at either the New Castle campus or online.

This Bachelor's degree will prepare students to earn certification in as a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or a vendor certification through CompTIA. Graduates have gone on to pursue cybersecurity positions such as digital forensic examiners, network administrators, and information security analysts. The core subjects must be passed with a "C-" grade or higher.

University of Delaware Online Masters in Cyber Security Degree

The University of Delaware has a Master of Science in Cybersecurity that can be completed conveniently online. A unique aspect of this program is providing an education in developing software and security on the networks themselves. Because the curriculum will consist of building these solutions, prospective students should have a strong background in computer engineering or computer science. They should be proficient in computer programming such as Java or Python.

Students that enhance these skills by taking a "primer course" that sharpens computer science topics. Specific courses include creating secure communication with encryption, being able to authenticate messages, and verifying messages through digital signatures. Meeting with an advisor will help in determining if these courses are needed.
